Games adapted from famous martial art novels are highlighted in game company Perfect World Games' game publication plan. It will continue to publish more games in the future, the company said at a news conference held in Beijing on Tuesday.

Computer and mobile games adapted from Chinese writers Louis Cha Leung-yung's four books, including The Legend of Condor Heroes, The Return of the Condor Heroe sand The Smiling Proud Wanderer have been published in the past. A new mobile game adapted from Cha's The Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils will be promoted to the market in the near future.

"Since Cha started to publish The Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils in the 1960s, this book has influenced generations of people. We have tried our best to transmit the world of martial art and the chivalrous spirit described by Cha to more people in the form of games," said Lu Xiaoyin, CEO of the games segment of Perfect World Co Ltd.

In the future, games adapted from books of another martial art novelist Woon Swee Oan will also be created.

"Some people say martial art stories have become outdated, but I believe the chivalrous spirit in such books is valuable in any era. It may appear, for example, in the medical workers' fight against COVID-19. The combination of martial art stories and games is a new attempt for me," said Woon.
