In Beijing, temporary vaccination sites help

To help employees in office buildings receive coronavirus vaccines, Beijing's Chaoyang district has set up temporary vaccination sites in the Beijing Yintai Center and Wanda Square, according to a report in Beijing Daily on Wednesday.

Four other temporary vaccination sites are in the process of being set up in the district.

A resident who works in Yintai said he needed only 40 minutes to get a vaccination.

Xu Daichuan, deputy general manager of Beijing Yintai Property Co, which owns the center, said the site was formerly used for exhibitions.

"We have renovated the space as required under the standards for mass vaccinations," he said. "All the people getting vaccines are workers in office buildings — around 3,000 people. We expect vaccinations to go on for two and a half days."

Some of Beijing's other districts are also taking steps to increase vaccination efficiency. In Haidian district, home to many companies and universities, the district health authorities sent mobile medical teams to companies to provide on-site inoculations.

Xicheng district, has helped restaurants organize their employees to get vaccinations.

According to the Beijing government, up to 5 million people in the city had received vaccinations as of midday on Tuesday. The work began on Jan 1.
