Man accused of murdering 7 people found dead

A suspect accused of killing 7 people was found dead near the crime scene on Wednesday, a statement from the public security bureau of Bei'an, Heilongjiang province, said on Thursday.

A gun reportedly used in the crime was also discovered near the suspect surnamed Wei, the statement added.

Police offered a reward of up to 100,000 yuan ($15,500) for information about Wei, 68, a local resident, accused of murdering 7 people.

Wei ran away on Tuesday after killing them with a gun in the city's Yongyue village, local police told Red Star, a news outlet.

The case is under investigation.
