A symphonic version of a dance drama, titled Heroic Sons and Daughters, by the symphony orchestra and chorus of China National Opera & Dance Drama Theater will premiere at Tianqiao Performing Arts Center on Oct 22.
Based on a Chinese movie with the same title which debuted in 1964, which tells stories of Chinese soldiers in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-53), the dance drama was made to mark the 70th anniversary of the war. Actor Sun Fubo plays the role of Wang Cheng, a heroic solider who died during the struggle.
From Oct 22 to 24, the dance drama will be staged at the same venue.
