The National Museum of China is showcasing a total of 796 Chinese artifacts that in March 2019 were successfully claimed back from Italy after a 12-year-long repatriation process. Some artifacts date back to Majiayao, a Neolithic culture from the third millennium BC in today's Gansu province, according to archaeologists with the National Museum of China.

Archaeologists also found that among the artifacts, many are pottery figurines of camel caravans from the Han (206 BC-AD 220) and Tang (618-907) dynasties, providing abundant information on cultural communication and trade between the East and the West.
