Liao Guoxun appointed Shanghai's deputy Party chief


Liao Guoxun has been appointed as deputy secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Xinhua News Agency reported on Friday.
The appointment was approved by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
Born in 1963, the native of Sichuan province is an ethnic Tujia who studied chemistry in Guiyang Normal College in 1979 before joining the Party in 1983 when he started his career as a teacher in Kaili, Guizhou province.
Liao became a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee in 2012 before being assigned to the similar position in Zhejiang province in 2015.
In December 2016, Liao was appointed as a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shanghai Committee and head of Shanghai's Discipline Inspection Commission.
He was in 2018 appointed as the director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission for Supervision.
