China Cultural Center officially opens in Kuala Lumpur

Dato' Yean Yoke Heng, deputy secretary-general of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia attended and read the congratulatory letter on behalf of Malaysian minister Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi.

He said the 2020 China-Malaysia Year of Culture and Tourism will become a new milestone in promoting bilateral relations between the two countries and towards active and substantive cooperation. The establishment of the China Cultural Center in Kuala Lumpur will not only promote more cultural exchange activities between the two countries in the future and strengthen the relationship between the two countries, but will benefit the people of the two countries and become an important engine for promoting cultural exchanges and friendship between the two countries.

During the event, guests from both sides watched wonderful performances by Chinese and Malaysian musicians. Image of China, a curated exhibition of works collected by the National Academy of Chinese Paintings, showcases works of 41 artists. Guests from both countries viewed the exhibition and experienced the unique charm of Chinese ink art at close range.

The Kuala Lumpur China Cultural Center was established in 2018 and officially opened on Jan 19, 2020. The center is in the center of Kuala Lumpur, with a total area of about 1,200 square meters. Through events such as cultural activities, humanities dialogues, industrial promotion, and tourism promotion, the center is committed to becoming a platform to help Malaysians understand China and recognize China.
