The theater's first Chinese adaptation, A la luna is a multimedia production by the Voila Producciones from Spain. The show, which was praised by Chinese audiences as "tear-jerking and heartwarming at the same time, with different interpretations from the perspectives of children and grown-ups", has been shown more than 120 times.

Unlike most theater productions, plays for children often do not require a big budget or cast, says Liang. A la luna, for example, features no more than one actor, who performs by interacting with the animations projected on a screen.

Inspired by the success of A la luna, SHCAT went on to produce the Chinese version of Invisibles from the same company. Since the production was completed in June, the Chinese version of Invisibles has been shown 21 times across the city. In 2020, the two plays will embark on a tour in other parts of China.

The theater says it will also give priority to the education of Chinese culture for young audiences. In 2018, SHCAT launched a series called Baby Loves Chinese Culture, featuring performances of folk songs and dance from different ethnic groups in China. This year, the theater will join hands with different folk opera companies to launch a new series titled Baby Loves Folk Opera to introduce traditional Chinese folk opera to young audiences.
