GUANGZHOU - Seven people were killed and two others injured after a minibus collided with a three-wheeled motorbike before slamming into a roadside tree in Guangdong province on Thursday morning, local authorities said.
The accident occurred around 10:30 am in the city of Lianzhou. The minibus burst into flames after smashing into the tree, the city's public security bureau said.
Seven people were killed on the spot, including six from the bus and one from the motorbike, the bureau said. The two injured were also from the bus.
The initial probe suggests the bus was overloaded cause it only had a maximum capacity of seven.
