2021 China Flower Expo unveils official song, logo and flower
The 10th China Flower Expo, which will be held on Shanghai's Chongming Island in 2021, unveiled its theme song, logo and official event flower – the peony - on Thursday.
The logo of the expo, hua zhi meng, which literally means "the dreams of flowers", is designed based on the Chinese character hu, which is an abbreviated name for Shanghai, the character hua (flower), and the character meng (dream). The theme song was composed by the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.
Li Zheng, governor of the Chongming district, said that this will be the first time that the China Flower Expo is taking place on an island, and that the expo will be staged in Dongping National Forest Park from May 21 to July 2, 2021.
"We expect a total of 3 million visitors," he said. "With 519 days to go, our work has moved from planning to implementation."
The exhibition, which will cover 588 hectares, will include the main expo park, service facilities to its north and Dongping town to the south.
The expo park will be divided into several sections, including a core display center, a main avenue, six pavilions and six gardens for flowers such as magnolia, plum, orchid, chrysanthemum, bamboo and lotus.
