Websites suspended for unlicensed reporting
The websites of Visual China Group and IC Photo, both online visual content and service providers, were required to suspend service for comprehensive rectification on Tuesday due to multiple violations.
The two Chinese online visual content giants violated regulations on providing internet news and information services and conducting cooperation involving internet news and information services with foreign enterprises, according to the Cyberspace Administration of China.
Under the guidance of the national cyberspace administration, the cyberspace administration departments in Tianjin, Jiangsu, Beijing and Shanghai made inquiries of people in charge of the websites.
The two websites were ordered to immediately stop illegal behavior and undergo a thorough rectification. The people responsible for the websites said they will fully implement the order and suspend service immediately for self-inspection.
The two companies' websites were found to engaged in Internet news information services without obtaining authorized licenses. They also carried out cooperation involving internet news information services with overseas enterprises without security assessment, which seriously disrupted the order of network communication according to the cyberspace administration departments.
