In Quzhou county, North China's Hebei province, a group of African students are living and working alongside local farmers. Learning to drive tractors and take soil samples, they are seeking practical solutions to livelihood challenges back home.

Established by China Agricultural University, the "Science and Technology Backyard" program shares China's agricultural wisdom with the world through hands-on training, planting the seeds of "zero hunger" in the soil of the Global South.

Follow China Daily reporter Owen Fishwick to discover how these seeds of change are being carried to Africa, and how China's agricultural experience is contributing to the global "zero hunger" goal.
