Senior CPC official stresses improvement of police stations

BEIJING -- A senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official has urged efforts to improve the work of police stations to strengthen the foundation of social harmony and stability.
Guo Shengkun, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks on Thursday at a symposium in Beijing.
Guo called on the police and police stations nationwide to innovate mechanisms for organizing and mobilizing the people and adopt diversified means to resolve conflicts, safeguard security and serve the public.
State Councilor Zhao Kezhi, also public security minister, presided over symposium.
