China to uphold, improve socialist administration system with Chinese characteristics: document

BEIJING - China will work to uphold and improve the socialist administration system with Chinese characteristics and put in place government governance systems featuring clearly defined functions and duties and law-based government administration, according to a decision of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.
The decision on some major issues concerning how to uphold and improve the system of socialism with Chinese characteristics and advance the modernization of China's system and capacity for governance was adopted at the fourth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee on Oct 31.
It stressed the following:
-- improving national administration systems;
-- improving systems of government functions and duties;
-- improving government organizational structures;
-- improving systems and mechanisms to give full play to enthusiasm of both central and local governments.
