Academic publishing ethics guidelines issued in China

BEIJING -- The China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) has released a set of guidelines to enhance self-discipline of scientific research and prevent academic misconduct.
In eight chapters, the document titled "Ethical Standards for Scientific Journal Publishing," outlines ethical principles for academic writing, peer reviewing, and editing and publishing from the perspective of researchers, reviewers, editors and publishers.
According to the association, academic publishing is of great significance in building scientific integrity. The guidelines will provide a normative reference for copyright management, and preventing and addressing academic misconduct, and strengthening the process of editorial decision-making in academic journals.
The CAST is the largest non-governmental organization of scientific and technological professionals in China.
