Over 20 million view final match of Super Penguin Celebrity Game

The final encounter of 2019 Super Penguin Celebrity Game was staged in Beijing on Aug 24. Eight teams comprising Chinese entertainment stars and professional basketball players competed for the championship, and team Paladin led by film star Liu Shuailiang was the winner.

Organized by Tencent Sports, Super Penguin Celebrity Game is a reality show which features Chinese entertainment stars competing in basketball games.

Speaking about the event, Ewell Zhao, the general manager of Tencent Sports, said: "For most Chinese, sports is not a part of their lives, but entertainment is. So, we combined sports and entertainment to make this show in the hope that more people will get to know sports through entertainment."

Separately, Chinese stars like singer Xiao Jingteng, TV show actor He Haochen and singer Ma Jia provided entertainment during the competition. And basketball stars like Manu Ginóbili were also invited to tutor the players.

The final game was viewed by over 21 million people on live streaming platforms.
