Animated film tells of Shanghai's industrial past

The animated film Kiangnan 1894 will be released during the National Day holiday in October.

Set in the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), the story revolves around a teenager named A'lang, who accidentally becomes an apprentice in the Jiangnan Manufacturing Factory before becoming a top military mechanic.

Co-produced by SMG Pictures and Shanghai Zhongchuan Culture Media Co, the show will feature scenes of the Jiangnan Manufacturing Factory from a hundred years ago. The facility was the most important military factory in the late Qing Dynasty.
