Are bike lanes a good idea?

This should have been done long ago. Separating bike lanes from the main road would make it safe for bikers. In addition, pedestrian lanes should be clearly marked out too so that bikers will not go on to pedestrian lanes and vice versa. People also must learn to obey traffic rules for the sake of safety for everyone.
