Fire rolls through section of Nanjing shopping center

A fire engulfed the ninth floor of the Golden Eagle International Shopping Center located in Xinjiekou area in Nanjing's downtown on Friday evening.

Nobody got hurt in the fire, according to the Nanjing emergency management department. The department said the fire was brought under control around 10:10 pm, and that firefighters were extinguishing the remaining small fires that existed in the the center as of 10:30 pm.

The fire started near a hotel under renovation on the block's 9th floor. The cause of the fire and its economic losses haven't been determined yet.
