British Chinese Film Day held in London with focus on Chinese short films


The "British Chinese Film Day" on Sunday night was held in London's British Film Institute, with focus on Chinese ethnicity filmmakers working in Britain and their productions on short films.
The event was also as part of the Filming East Festival 2019.
Five Filming East Shorts Award winners, featuring short films across drama, comedy, action, animation, and documentaries, were screened during the event.
The shortlisted filmmakers also shared with the audience their experience of working in the film industry in Britain.
In addition to the short films, three award-winning Chinese language films, namely SUSU, The Soul of Himalaya and The Fragile House, are also being screened during the festival from Jan 27 to Jan 31 in collaboration with Chinese Arts Now (CAN) to show the British audience the contemporary Chinese films from different angles, themes and artistic expression.
