An-Ting Chang, the CEO of CAN, said that through the cooperation with the Filming East Festival, new opportunities of showcasing and communications will be created for Chinese filmmakers in Britain, who have been facing challenges.
Since 2007, Filming East Festival has been dedicated to showcasing excellent contemporary Chinese language films in Britain. So far, over 300 Chinese shorts and feature films have been screened, which have won certain amount of audience in the country, and thus facilitated cultural exchanges between Britain and China.
Yao Tu and Tilda Li, the festival programmers, said the festival has new breakthroughs this year as it focuses more on encouraging young Chinese filmmakers in Britain and followed the new trend of showing films completely using Chinese dialects.
