NetEase subsidiary honors indie musicians

According to Ding Bo, the vice-president of NetEase Cloud Music, the award ceremony covers music of different genres, including rock, electronic music and folk music, which proves the diversity of China’s original music scene.

The online music platform, which has more than 600 million registered users, has been giving exposure to original Chinese singer-songwriters since 2013. Over 80,000 singer-songwriters had joined NetEase Cloud Music as of January 2019, making it the biggest platform for them in China.
