Beijing exhibition marks a painter's sincerity

One of Li's most iconic works, Thunderstorm, is on display in which he depicts a man struggling with heavy winds and rains.

He painted it in 1944 to indicate wartime agony, and encouraged people to back the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1931-45).
