8. Our Common Homeland

An original music production by the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra that was composed by Huang Lei, Our Common Homeland leverages a fusion of Shanghai folk music and a variety of world music such as New Age, Jazz and Tango to highlight the issue of environmental protection. In chapter three, the combination of Pipa (Chinese lute), Spanish guitar and Flamenco also reflects an acute understanding of Eastern and Western cultures. Two performances will be put up at Shanghai Grand Theatre on Nov 5 and 6.
