A road maintenance team in Lhasa, Tibet autonomous region, has not taken days off during the Tibetan New Year, which started Feb 16, to ensure the safe operation of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway.
Based in Gurum town, Lhasa, the team is responsible for the maintenance of an 18.3-kilometer section of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, including 12 bridges, 64 culverts and a railway station under unattended operation.
Its 117 maintenance workers have worked during all major holidays in the past three years since it was established in 2015. Last year, the team eliminated five railway safety risks.
