'Happy Chinese New Year' event adds vitality to Sofia

A "Happy Chinese New Year" event co-organized by Sofia China Cultural Center and the municipal government of Sofia, was held at the Serdica archaeological complex in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria on Feb 11.

Gu Hongxing, Chinese ambassador to Bulgaria, Han Xiaoyin, deputy director of media bureau of Ningbo city and the municipal cultural minister of Sofia attended the event, along with several thousands of local citizens.

Art troupes and intangible cultural heritage performance groups from Ningbo, Zhejiang province, brought a feast of Chinese culture to local audiences. Many found the songs, dances, theatrical and musical performances from China to be something fresh and new.
