International Ice and Snow Festival opens in Harbin

The 34th Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival kicked off Jan 5 at the Harbin Ice and Snow World park in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province.
Meanwhile, the 19th Harbin Ice and Snow World, an 800,000-square-meter wonderland, began its official run.
The annual ice and snow festival, a major event for the "Ice City" of Harbin to welcome tourists from around the world, will last until the end of February when the ice starts to melt.
