Senior official vows to implement spirit of CPC congress

BEIJING - Guo Shengkun, secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee under the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, has called on the country's political and legal staff to study and implement the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress.
Guo, also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the CPC Central Committee Secretariat, made the remarks in a meeting of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee in Beijing on Tuesday.
Guo said the political and legal workers should take Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the guide for work, to advance the building of a safe China, the rule of law, and the building of political and legal workforce in the new era.
Guo urged political and legal staff to fulfill their mission in safeguarding national political security, securing social stability, promoting equality and justice, and making sure the people enjoy a peaceful and prosperous life.
Guo said political and legal workers must unswervingly adhere to the centralized and unified leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Xi at the core.
The 19th CPC National Congress was held from Oct. 18 to 24 in Beijing.
