Residents in the city of Baoding, based in North China’s Hebei province, are preparing for the First Baoding Tourism Industry Development Conference, set to be held for two days from Sept 22. Three county-level cities in Baoding – including Gaobeidian, Dingxing and Baigou – will host the event.
Gaobeidian, the main host city, has invested 3.5 billion yuan ($540.3 million) to build a world specialty town, a sports town, a modern agricultural park, Yanzhao Park, a world door, a window town and a health care town. The sports town, fusing sports with tourism, is one of the main projects for the conference, which has the highest artificial monomer climbing gym in the world, which is also the largest in Asia.
