On December 14, 1931, the 26th Route Army of Kuomintang, in which had underground workers of the Communist Party of China, staged an uprising in Ningdu, Jiangxi province, and joined the Red Army. The group became the 5th Corps of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army (CWPRA).
