Several people are feared dead after an airplane and a helicopter crashed in mid-air over Buckinghamshire on Friday.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch said it was sending a team to investigate the collision near Aylesbury.

Thames Valley Police are at the scene of the incident close to the village of Waddensdon after the emergency services were called at 12:06pm.

A spokesman for Bucks Fire and Rescue Service told the BBC: "There are 30 fire service staff there from all counties, working alongside police, ambulance and the AAIB.”

Officials said both aircraft involved in the collision came from Wycombe Air Park near High Wycombe.
