Overseas Chinese compatriots in Britain have been raising funds for Lushan County since it was struck by a magnitude-7 earthquake on 20th April.

The London Chinatown Chinese Association (LCCA) donates £34,500 for the quake zone. Liu Xiaoming, Chinese Ambassador to Britain, invited the representatives of the LCCA to the Chinese Embassy, and expressed his full recognition and thanks to the efforts done by the compatriots.

Chinese Embassy in the UK has received donations from overseas Chinese companies, organizations and individuals after the strong earthquakes.

Chu Ting Tang, the chairman of the LCCA, hopes the donations can help the post-disaster reconstruction. "Members of the association have organized a series of fundraising activities at London's Chinatown after the earthquake. We are concerned about people's lives there and the disaster relief works," said Tang.
