Singapore deputy PM to visit China

SINGAPORE - Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister (PM), Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean is scheduled to visit China from Sunday to Tuesday, the city-state's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Saturday.

Teo will visit China's Guangzhou from Sunday to Monday. He is scheduled to meet Hu Chunhua, secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Guangdong Governor Zhu Xiaodan there. He will also visit the Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City.

During Teo's stay in China from Monday to Tuesday, he will lead the Singapore delegation for the 10th China-ASEAN Exposition (CAEXPO) in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. He will deliver a speech at the opening ceremony of the 10th CAEXPO on Tuesday, the foreign ministry said in a statement.

The deputy prime minister will also meet Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, Secretary of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region's CPC committee Peng Qinghua and Yunnan Governor Li Jiheng during his stay in Guangxi.

The foreign ministry said Teo will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
