Paris Air Show to unveil at Le Bourget in France

PARIS - The world largest aviation exhibition, Paris Air Show, sets to launch from next Monday at Le Bourget, near Paris, in celebration to its 50th anniversary.

The biennial event will attracts 2,113 leading players of the global aviation industry from 45 countries, including the industry flagships European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company (EADS), Thales and Safran which will showcase their innovations and new products at Paris-Le Bourget Exhibition Center between June 17 and 23, 2013.

The competition for wide-body jet orders between two giant aircraft manufacture rivals, American Boeing and France's Airbus, will highlight the upcoming Paris Air Show.

The two world leading aircraft groups will bring their next-generation long-haul planes, Boeing's 787 Dreamliner and Airbus' A350 to the public on the week-long event.

Both planes make extensive use of lighter composite materials that help reduce fuel consumption and pollution.

Boeing expects to use the 2013 Paris Air Show to maintain its solid share on the long-haul market.

As for Airbus, a subsidiary of EADS, it has already successfully conducted a test flight of its new fuel-saving aircraft A350 XWB on Friday at Toulouse, southwestern France.

To date the A350 XWB has already won 613 firm orders from 33 customers worldwide.

More than 350,000 visitors are expected at this year's Paris Air Show, among which 151,000 are trade visitors. There are 3,200 journalists accredited to the event.

The stands area covers 54,000 square meters with 43,000 square meters of outside surfaces, according to the organizers.

Created in 1909 at the Grand Palais in France's capital, the Paris Air Show has been the most important, most popular and the oldest show in the aviation industry.
