6.3-magnitude quake hits Fiji Islands

HONG KONG - An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale jolted Fiji Islands region at 1154 local time (0354 GMT) on Friday, the Hong Kong Observatory said.
The epicenter was initially determined to be near 16.5 degrees south latitude and 176.7 degrees west longitude, about 540 kilometers north-northwest of Nuku'alofa.
