Oil pipeline sabotaged in Syria: Syrian television

Agencies | Updated: 2011-07-29 15:33

BEIRUT - State-run Syrian television says a bomb blast has struck an oil pipeline in western Syria.

Syrian TV says "saboteurs" targeted the pipeline in the western town of Talkalakh between the cities of Homs and Tartous.

Talkalakh is an opposition stronghold near the border with Lebanon. It has witnessed a deadly crackdown and siege by security forces in May during which rights activists say around 35 people died.

The TV's report on Friday did not mention casualties or say what the damage was.
