Tourists look on as water gushes from the Xiaolangdi Reservoir to the Yellow River during a sand-washing operation in Luoyang, Central China's Henan province, June 30, 2014. The on-going operation is carried out by discharging water from the reservoir in order to clean up sediment in the Yellow River, the country's second-longest waterway. The rushing water currents carry tons of sand into the sea. The Yellow River has been plagued with an increasing amount of mud and sand. Each year, the river bed rises as silt deposits build up, slowing water flow in the river's lower reaches. [Photo/Xinhua]
