China: intellectual property and sci-tech innovation hotspot

The 15th Shanghai International Intellectual Property Forum & Global IP Protection and Innovation Development Conference, part of the first China International Import Expo (CIIE), was held on Nov 6, 2018 at Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center.

The forum gathered intellectual property experts and representatives from WIPO and IP administrations of over 20 countries and regions, who discussed the topic "Intellectual Property Protection: Innovation-driven Development and First-class Business Environment".

The event was organized by the National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), the Ministry of Commerce, the Shanghai municipal government and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

The CNIPA director Shen Changyu, WIPO director-general Francis Gurry and Assistant Minister of Commerce Li Chenggang attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
