Shanghai must put an intellectual property rights strategy into every part of becoming a globally influential technological innovation center. “We will fully push forward city construction by intellectual property rights, deepen the reform on intellectual property rights and promote the creation, use, protection, management and service of intellectual property rights. We are looking forward to cooperating and sharing experience with WIPO and global countries and regions in the field of intellectual property rights,” said Shen Changyu, director of the National Intellectual Property Administration. Shen introduced the latest intellectual property achievements in China. The intellectual property system is a basic guarantee to encourage innovation. Protecting intellectual property rights is protecting innovation. By the end of 2015, the Chinese government had made important plans to build China into a powerful intellectual property power. Shanghai is a pioneer of China’s reform and opening up and innovative development. In recent years, Shanghai vowed to speed up the construction of international economic, financial, commercial and shipping centers as well as globally influential technological innovation centers, which cannot be separated from strong intellectual property support.
