Seminar for State-level IP training bases held at Tongji University

To enhance the quality of intellectual property (IP) training and cultivate more IP professionals, a seminar for State-level IP training bases was held at Shanghai International college of Intellectual Property (SICIP) of Tongji University, Shanghai from Sept 20 to 21.

Gan Shaoning, deputy director of the National Intellectual Property Administration (NIPA); Sima Fang, inspector of NIPA Personnel Department; Sun Wei, deputy director of the National IP Training Base; Ji Xiaoye, deputy director of Shanghai Intellectual Property Administration (SIPA), and 120 representatives of 26 State-level IP training bases attended the seminar.

Gan delivered a speech at the opening ceremony and summarized the achievements of previous work, while setting out his requirements for training new professionals skilled in all aspects of IP, as well as arguing for high quality and coordinated development.

At the seminar, Ji outlined Shanghai’s support and investment for construction of an IP training base and the current issues with IP management and protection.

Furthermore, representatives from training bases in Chongqing, Zhejiang, Jiangxi and Jilin exchanged their opinions with others. Keynote speeches were given by representatives from Jiangsu, Henan and Hubei during the two-day seminar.

Every IP training base will focus on economic and social development, providing high quality training with the aim of making China a center for IP, said Sima.
