(chinadaily.com.cn) Updated: 2016-10-08 17:20

As the 13th Party congress of Wuxi gets underway at the city's Great Hall of the People, the city is unveiling five new buzzwords describing the city's development goals for the next five years. Here is a quick guide to help you unpack these new terms.

1. IoT town

Making Wuxi a center for Internet of Things (IoT) technology is a major task that the city has been given by Jiangsu province.

Wuxi is striving to build a first-class IoT town based in the city's Wu Culture Expo Park, which will combine advanced IoT technology with traditional tourism facilities promoting Wu culture, the traditional culture of the Jiangnan region that encompasses the region around Taihu Lake and south of the Yangtze River.

The construction work will focus on user experience and take advantage of the park's eco culture, agricultural foundation and landscape to promote its distinctive cultural relics, ensuring the sustainable development of the park.
