Showcasing 35,000 plum blossom trees in 367 varieties, the 2016 Nanjing International Plum Blossom Festival will open at the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum Scenic Area on Feb 16.

To allow more people to appreciate the beauty of the official flower of Nanjing, the ticket price for the Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum Scenic Area will be cut to 60 yuan for each adult during the 40-day festival.

The latest snowfalls have advanced the flowering dates of the plum blossoms and the best time to enjoy the pleasant fragrance at Plum Blossom Hill in the scenic area will be from the middle of February to early March.

Qipao (cheongsam) shows, roller skating performances, art exhibitions and other interesting activities will also be held during the event.
