Wuxi village official attends NPC with her baby

In the Jiangsu delegation to the third sessions of the 12th National People's Congress, there is a "supernumerary representative" – the 4-month-old Hangyuan. Hangyuan is the son of the delegate Zhu Hong, a village official at Shanlian Village of Wuxi. "The baby is too young and he needs feeding. So I applied to the General Assembly for taking my baby with me,” said Zhu Hong.

The General Assembly of NPC approved Zhu’s application. Zhu’s husband can accompany Zhu to Beijing for the “two sessions”. In order not to interfere with her work, Zhu will feed her baby four times a day. When Zhu is in the meeting, Zhu’s husband will take care of the baby.

As an NPC delegate, Zhu Hong brought chrysanthemum tea produced in her village this year.

"I'm going to show it to other delegates during the panel discussion, and also to make an 'advertisement'," said Zhu. She holds that this is a channel to increase farmers’ income.

Zhu will file motions on modern agriculture, rural environment, increase of farmers' income, etc at the congress.
