In the first quarter of this year, Dandong adopted multiple measures to solve their "land shortage". It obtained 812.43 hectares of land quota, increasing by one fold compared to the same period of last year. The increased land quota will ensure the smooth implementation of the major projects concerning economic development and the livelihoods of people in the city.

Dandong actively applied for the new quota for construction land from upper-level authorities in order to ensure the implementation of the projects in the central urban area.

The municipal bureau of land and resources both assists in solving land use problems facing the projects and inquires about new quotas from upper-level authorities.

The provincial authority has allocated 337.33 hectares of construction land to the city, a year-on-year increase of 159.5 percent. Eighteen urban land use projects including phase-2 of an instrumentation industry base and the development of Tiekuanggou were approved in the first application.

Dandong strives to solve land shortages in counties and districts. The municipal bureau of land and resources introduced various measures to solve land shortages and reviewed rural land that was being used for building houses in Kuandian, some of which were vacant. It also helped Donggang and Fengcheng to complete land use plans of 152 hectares and 157 hectares.

Effort was also made to include more project based land use in national and provincial support areas. The urban affordable housing projects are important to the governments at all levels this year. The municipal bureau of land and resources ensured its site and carried out the measurements of the land use for urban affordable housing projects. At present, 25.1 hectares of new land for affordable houses has been reported to the upper-level authority.

Three key road projects have also been classified as provincial key projects to need more land for construction. The provincial bureau of land and resources is expected to give more land use quota to Dandong to satisfy the land use requirement of the project construction of the Dagushan Economic Zone and the development of Dandong port.
