German-based fluid control systems expert Burkert will invest $18 million to build a regional headquarters in Taicang, Jiangsu province. The agreement was signed on Nov 26.

The new headquarters, which will be located in Taicang Port, will focus on the R&D, production, and sales of high-end fluid control systems.

The administrative committee of Taicang Port has promised to offer the best resources and services to Burkert in hopes that the project will boost the area's industry and economy.

Heribert Rohrbeck, CEO of Burkert, insisted that the new headquarters will prove its worth by making significant contributions to the port area.

Burkert was founded in 1946 by Christian Burkert and initially made products such as foot warmers, oven controls and thermal control systems.

Today, the company is a global leader in fluid control systems, offering everything from single valves to high-tech sensors, all manufactured to the highest quality with state-of-the-art technology.
