Taicang in Jiangsu province signed two cooperation agreements with Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) to stimulate the city's technological innovation, local media reported on Sept 24.

Taicang and SJTU will jointly establish a postdoctoral programme to connect German-invested enterprises in Taicang with postdoctoral candidates at SJTU.

The city and university will also embark on the construction of an innovation base for technological innovation.

An alumnus community for SJTU graduates was also inaugurated in Taicang to function as a communication and cooperation platform. It will not only support SJTU graduates' innovation and entrepreneurial projects, but also give momentum to the city's quality development.

From 2014 to 2019, the Taicang alumni association of SJTU developed from a 39-member group to an 80-member family.

Some of them have gone on to become renowned entrepreneurs, some are leading the intelligent manufacturing industry, some helped to deepen the partnership between Taicang and Germany enterprises, and others still are committed to introducing more cooperation opportunities to the city.
