Shuangfeng town, Taicang city of Jiangsu province, strives to achieve a 6.5 percent increase of regional GDP, a 10 percent increase of general public budget revenue, and a 5 percent increase of industrial output this year, particularly in the new material and auto parts industries.

The town will focus on 38 key projects this year, of which 13 are under construction, and 12 are to be built. Output efficiency is being emphasized and the number of enterprises above designated size is expected to exceed 100.

The town will strengthen strategic cooperation with surrounding auto business areas such as Dazhong Economic City in Shanghai's Anting town, with the aim of making its auto parts industry bigger and stronger and increasing the number of auto parts enterprises to over 100.

It also aims to attract more investment from Germany, create a suitable environment for the development of European and American enterprises, and bring in three German-funded projects.

It will strive to bring together startup firms, promote innovative development, and cultivate five new hi-tech enterprises.

Companies are being encouraged to increase R&D investment, and 55 percent of enterprises above designated size are expected to have research institutes.

To reach its goal, the town will work with hi-tech zones, revitalize idle land and factories, and encourage enterprises to move to the town through a range of preferential policies.
