Cote d'Ivoire's ambassador to China, Adama Dosso, met with Lu Yan, the deputy mayor of Taicang city, to discuss trade collaboration on July 3.

Prior to ambassador Dosso's visit, government officials from Cote d'Ivoire's trade department had already visited Taicang. Whilst there, they extended an invitation for Taicang's business leaders to visit their country.

Located in West Africa, Cote d'Ivoire is home to the Abidjan port, one of Africa's largest container ports. The port is relied on by both Republic of Mali and Burkina Faso to reach the international market.

Cote d'Ivoire is a major exporter of raw materials such as cocoa beans and coffee beans. Its government has attached great importance to industries such as oil, automobile manufacturing and finance.

Companies from Taicang have made investments in South America, Middle East and Central Asia. The African country of Tanzania in the southeast of the continent is also home to Taicang-based companies currently operating there.
