Founder and Chairman of UCSI Group
UCSI Group can be traced back to 1986, when Dato’ Peter T.S. Ng founded the Canada Institute of Computer Science in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, in 1986. Originally a computer training institute, the UCSI brand swiftly attained national recognition for its commitment to excellence. Through continuous improvement, the institute was accorded full-fledged university status by the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia in October 7, 2008, and renamed UCSI University. More than 20 subsidiaries in Kuala Lumpur, Sarawak and Terengganu, as well as over 10,000 students, are now part of the UCSI umbrella. The university offers more than 80 courses. Its bachelor’s, master‘s and doctor’s degrees are all recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education.
UCSI Group began establishing subsidiaries in major business areas in 2003 to support the overall operation of the university. Those areas cover pre-school education; private primary schools, middle schools and international schools; and training for executive staff and lifelong learners.
Now the group has a variety of subdivisions, including UCSI University (main industry), UCSI International School, UCSI Child-Development Center, Sri UCSI private primary and middle school, UCSI Extension (for lifelong learning), UCSI Communications (public relations and advertisement industry), UCSI hotels and restaurants, UCSI online information industry (information and communication service), the Laurent Bleu Skin Science Center, the UCSI Blue Ocean Strategy Regional Center and UCSI Properties. The group’s headquarter is located in Kuala Lumpur, capital of Malaysia, together with the majority of subsidiaries. The group’s high-quality service and culture have made it a famous brand across the world.
