Henderson Land dedicated to charity

Henderson Land holds a long-standing commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR). It commits itself to various responsibilities, including education, community work, art and culture, sustainability, environmental education and mega events. It has won several awards in recent years.

When summer begins in Hong Kong in July, many low-income families are already worrying about how to afford textbooks for their children in the coming school year. Henderson Land gave 300 students from low-income families full sets of textbooks. It also established prizes to inspire students, awarding seven outstanding students with rewards of 5,000 or 10,000 yuan. Lee Ka Shing, Henderson Land’s vice-chairman, attended the “Book With Love” textbook-giving ceremony and encouraged students to strive for excellence and contribute positively to society in the future.

The program aims to help low-income families support their children at school, change their life and contribute to society through knowledge. Henderson Land also sent out a team of social workers, helping low-income families with financial support as well as direct aid.

The program received an overwhelming response from 3,000 applicants in various schools across the city. After selection, 305 outstanding students were shortlisted for the prize, receiving 850,000 yuan in total awards. The awards amount and the number of recipients broke all records in the past 12 years.
